Joshua Sweet
(he/him/they/them)
Josh Sweet became a massage therapist out of a desire to serve others and help them break free from patterns of pain and discomfort. Inspired by his father’s legacy as a massage therapist, Josh pursued his license and had the invaluable opportunity to train under his Dad, gaining decades of expertise before his father’s retirement.
With seven years in practice, Josh specializes in deep tissue and therapeutic massage, blending targeted techniques such as active/passive release, deep stretching, trigger point therapy, integrated breathing, and somatic feedback. His advanced training in Myoskeletal Alignment Technique, Somatic Feedback Technique, and structural massage approaches allows him to address chronic neck and shoulder pain, low back and hip issues, and postural imbalances. Josh works with clients who are motivated to feel better, recover from injuries, and improve their daily function.
An exceptional session with Josh begins with a thoughtful intake that goes beyond symptom relief to uncover root causes. He checks in about his clients’ daily activities, work and movement habits, self-care routines, and injury history to better understand patterns that may contribute to discomfort. During the first session, clients can expect exploratory palpation, gentle relaxation techniques to build rapport, and progressively deeper, more technical work to address specific issues. Josh often incorporates stretches, posture tips, and home-care recommendations so clients leave with not just relief, but also tools to maintain their well-being. His clients frequently report less pain, greater range of motion, and faster recovery from injuries or daily stresses.
Josh shares, “My goal is to help people understand their bodies better, so they can feel better and live better. Massage can be deeply structural without being painful. It’s about working with the body, not against it.”
Outside of the treatment room, Josh thrives in the outdoors: hiking, swimming in nature, camping, and rock climbing. He also enjoys photography, traveling with his wife, and running Dungeons & Dragons campaigns. At home, he loves spending time with his dog and picnicking.
If you’re seeking a therapeutic massage that combines deep structural work with an intuitive touch that leaves you feeling comfortable, more mobile, and empowered, then a session with Josh could be the perfect fit for you. Book your appointment here to start your journey to wellness.
